1. Application of Clause:

This clause applies to all shipments delivered to addresses within the United States of America (US) placed on or after August 29, 2025.

2. Changes in US Import Regulations:

As of August 29, 2025, the United States has eliminated the de minimis exemption that previously allowed shipments valued under $800 to enter duty- and tax-free. All commercial shipments into the US, regardless of value, are now subject to formal customs clearance, import duties, taxes, and processing fees.

3. Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) Service:

To ensure a smooth, predictable delivery process and to avoid delays or returns caused by unpaid customs charges, Elexadent ships all orders to the US on a Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) basis. Under DDP terms:

• Elexadent (the seller) is responsible for all costs, including freight, customs clearance, import duties, taxes, and carrier fees, to deliver the goods to the specified US address.
• The Client (the buyer) will see the total landed cost upfront at checkout. No additional fees will be requested upon delivery.

4. Cost Impact and Pricing for US Clients:

• Cost Components: The final price for US clients includes the product cost plus a DDP Shipping & Clearance Surcharge. This surcharge is not a profit center but a direct pass-through of estimated logistics costs, covering: (1) international freight, (2) US import duties and taxes, and (3) customs brokerage and processing fees.
• Primary Cost Driver – Import Duties: For dental products, US import duties are the most significant variable. Rates are determined by the U.S. Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) code for the specific product. While dental-specific tariffs are subject to change and vary by product and country of origin, they can currently range significantly.
• Cost Per Kilogram Estimate: As a guide, based on current average duty rates and standard brokerage fees, the estimated DDP cost surcharge for air freight shipments from the UK to the US typically ranges from £12 to £25 per kilogram. This is an estimate only; the final surcharge applied at checkout will be calculated based on the specific product’s declared value, weight, and applicable duty rate.

5. Client Responsibilities (Information Provision):

To facilitate DDP clearance, the client must provide accurate and complete information required for the commercial invoice, including but not limited to the recipient’s full legal name and address. Providing an Employer Identification Number (EIN) for business recipients is strongly advised to expedite customs processing.

6. Refusal of Shipment and Returns:

If a shipment is refused by the recipient, abandoned, or returned to Elexadent due to an incorrect address, the client’s failure to accept delivery, or a refusal to provide necessary information, the client remains liable for the original order value and all incurred shipping and customs costs. Reshipment will be at the client’s sole expense.

7. Acknowledgment:

By placing an order for delivery to the US, the client acknowledges they have read, understood, and agree to these DDP shipping terms.
